Why India does not deserve to be a county

I have been discussing with a few of my ex-colleagues that India as of now does not deserve to be a country. And we have had interesting points for and against this very radical - unpatriotic sounding statement. But actually if you closely observe the points, it is one of the most patriotic concept. I will be adding the points later.

Lets try to answer this basic questions,

What do you remember (those of you who are outside of India) when you think of India

  • Food
  • Culture
  • Festivals
  • Language
What is so common about two Indians who have completely different cuisine?
People from one place can not stand the food of another for not more than a few times.

What is so common about culture when everything changes from how you dress to,
who you can or cannot marry to, how you get married? - Can two Indians share their
common memories of the culture

Even the festivals are celebrated for different reasons - Diwali/Deepavali in the south
is not the same in north. I am not an expert but I think there are 4-5 variations of the same.

Language - there is a decent comedy in Tamil movie where to Indians from neighboring states
cannot help each other in a foreign land as they do not have a common language that they speak.
Not to mention the political agenda behind these linguistic states. Some may say why not choose
Hindi but then why would anyone want to leave their native language.

Is it feasible to marry some one from another state without a million hiccups. - Read, two states by chetan bhagat.
It is plausible but from easily feasible.

Many say, Hey, it is getting there but
- A country should not have to get there, it should be already there.
